The Industrial technology course is an introductory level course open to any student. Industrial Technology is designed for students to study general concepts and principles of beginning woods manufacturing. Students will be working in teams and individually, developing product designs, produce products using woods manufacturing methods. Through the use of computer aided drafting, sketching, creative problem solving, and estimating materials costs demonstrate their understanding of woods manufacturing principals. Emphasis will be placed on safe use of hand and power tools as well as proper procedures and material usage in the manufacturing of products.
Outcomes, the student will be able to:
Woodworking skills
1. Select the correct woodworking tools, procedures, and/or equipment needed to produce a product.
2. Demonstrate the safe usage of appropriate tools, procedures and operation of equipment needed to produce products in the area of woodworking.
3. Maintain and troubleshoot the tools and equipment.
4. Follow all lab safety procedures and rules.
5. Demonstrate good housekeeping at their station and as part of a lab team.
6. Identify color coding safety standards
7. Explain and apply fire prevention and precautions, and explain the use of fire extinguishers.
8. Identify harmful and or hazardous materials and their effects on people and equipment.
Life skills
Demonstrate interpersonal skills as they relate to the work place. The students will be able to-

4. Identify skills needed to serve customers/clients.
